Full-service covers everything from your first venue tour through your last dance. Partial planning assumes you've already booked a venue and want help finishing the plan. When should we hire a wedding planner?
As early as possible if you want full-service planning: ideally 9–14 months out, since the best Arizona venues and South Asian vendors book that far ahead. If you're closer to your date, wedding management or partial planning can still make a real difference even a few months out.
What's a realistic planning timeline for a South Asian wedding?
Most families need 9–14 months for a multi-day wedding with 200+ guests. Shorter timelines are absolutely possible, but they narrow your venue and vendor options significantly, especially during Arizona's October–April peak season.
How many ceremonies do we need to plan for?
There's no requirement: some couples do two events, others do seven. Most Uplyft couples plan four to seven: some combination of Engagement, Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet, Baraat, ceremony and Reception, based on family tradition and budget.

Do you offer payment plans?

Is percentage-based pricing standard for wedding planners?
Some planners charge a percentage of your total wedding budget (commonly 8–20%) instead of a flat fee. It's worth asking directly, since percentage-based pricing can create an incentive for a planner to encourage higher spending: flat-fee pricing avoids that conflict.
Venues
Can Indian weddings have outside catering at Arizona resorts?
Many Arizona venues allow approved outside South Asian caterers, though some have exclusive in-house catering policies. Always confirm outside-catering fees, kitchen access and insurance requirements before booking a venue.
Do Arizona venues allow live cooking stations like chaat counters or tandoors?
Some do, but it depends on fire-code clearance and kitchen access: a venue allowing outside catering doesn't automatically mean open-flame stations are permitted. This is one of the first things we confirm when touring a venue with clients.
What venues work best for 300+ guest Indian weddings?
Larger resort ballrooms and properties with both indoor and outdoor space tend to work best, since they can host a big Reception while still offering a separate space for a Haldi or Mehndi earlier in the week without changing properties.
Is a Baraat procession allowed at most Arizona venues?
Most venues allow it with advance notice, but noise ordinances, timing restrictions and processional space vary a lot by property: this is worth confirming during your venue tour, not after you've booked.

How do you plan a Mehndi in Arizona?

What's the difference between a Sangeet and a Reception?
A Sangeet is a performance-driven event: choreographed family dances, live or DJ'd music, essentially a concert your family and friends put on. A Reception is the more traditional formal celebration with entrances, speeches, a first dance and dinner service.
Do you plan Sikh Anand Karaj ceremonies?
Yes. We plan around the Gurdwara's specific requirements and timing, and coordinate the rest of your wedding week's events around the ceremony itself.
Do you plan Muslim Nikkah and Walima events?
Yes, including officiant coordination and the specific timing and structure both events require.
Can you plan a fusion wedding blending two cultures?
Yes: fusion weddings are a meaningful share of what we plan. We focus on honoring both families' traditions fully rather than diluting either one, which usually means more careful sequencing and budget planning than a single-tradition wedding.
How much time should we leave between the ceremony and reception?
Most couples leave 60–90 minutes for a cocktail hour, which gives your team time to reset the space and gives you time for photos without guests waiting too long.
